Mark is an extraordinary athlete, one of the fittest surfers in the game. Mark finished runner-up in the 2007/08 Oakley Big Wave Awards, some people say Mark's psycho for riding those waves – but says it’s nothing compared to the training he does. Mark can hold his breath underwater for five minutes, while his trainers, Chris Evans and Scott Hipwell (a former Army Special Forces commando) agree Mark’s athletic abilities are freakish.
